What are goals at Balanced Health Chiropractic?
Our goal at the office is your health and any way that we can help you get your health on the right track. Your health is like a puzzle. There are many pieces that have to be put together to have a complete picture.
The nervous system is very important to overall health and function. Our body is designed to move and since it can move it also causes your body to be susceptible to certain stress and forces. Sometimes this causes the vertebra in the spine to lose their proper position, called a Neuro-Strucutral shift. This interferes with the body’s communication from the brain to the body to tell it how to function. Neuro-Structural shifts have multiple impacts to the body. Most people complain about pain in their muscles and joints. What is actually happening is degeneration going on in your spine and in your joints. It also causes nerve interference, which is what reduces functioning of the body.
The purpose of chiropractic is to detect and correct these neurostructural abnormalities. In other words restore the structure and function of the spine. Now some chiropractors may focus on only relieving your symptoms or secondary conditions, which can be good because it gets you feeling better. But if we don't focus on finding the primary condition, your symptoms will continue to keep coming back.
To achieve optimum health, we need to look at several areas in your life. Major ones that we like to talk about are;
- Nervous System Function
- Drinking enough water
- Nutrition
- Exercise
- Sleep
- Decreased exposure to toxins
Nervous system function is the most important part to the puzzle and most of the time the most overlooked piece. Your nervous system puts the water where your body needs to use it. All of the cells, organs in our bodies need to be hydrated. (tip: dry lips can be a sign you are dehydrated!) Your nervous system is what controls how you absorb the nutrients that you are eating or gets rid of the bad ones that it cannot use. Your nervous system is what controls your muscles to exercise. Your nervous system is what releases the correct hormones that allows us to sleep soundly. Your nervous system is what gets rid of the toxins that we are constantly surrounded with.
