How to use Coconut oil more than just for cooking!
There are so many ways we can use coconut oil, but these are my favorite!
- Cooking
- Coconut oil is great for cooking at a high heat because of its high smoke point. Because coconut oil is made up of healthy saturated fats it remains stable under high temperatures. Healthy fats with our vegetables makes it easier for our body to absorb more of its nutrients.
- Moisturizer
- Apply a quarter sized amount right after you get out of the shower so it can sink into your warm skin. The light tropical scent that remains after it’s applied. Add in a few drops of peppermint or lavender oil for a massage mix.
- Lip gloss
- Recipe listed below
- Makeup remover
- Use coconut oil around the eye area will allow you to remove makeup without fear or irritating your eyes. Plus it will give you extra hydration to that sensitive area = less wrinkles!
- Mouth
- Have you ever tried oil pulling? It has so many benefits you probably haven’t heard of. What you do is you take a scoop of coconut oil and let it melt in your mouth and once it is liquid swish it around like mouth wash. Swish it around in your mouth for 5-15 minutes and spit the oil out to dispose.
- If you don't like this, try adding peppermint essential oil to the coconut oil and brush it on your teeth.
- Coffee
- Add 1 tbsp to your coffee in the morning! You can use coconut oil in place of a creamer in your coffee. A plus with this is that your body gets to start burning fats right away in the morning. This fuels the body instead of feeding it with carbs and sugars that send you on an high and low roller coaster all day long with your blood sugar.
There are even more ways to use coconut oil than the uses listed here!
